Garment Drafting Principles

Foundation Geometry
  • Balanced Quarter Blocks: Garments are drafted in quarter sections (Center Front and Center Back) with proportional wearing ease.
  • Differential Shaping: Back blocks feature deeper crotch hooks, armscyes, and seat length to accommodate human body articulation.
Drafting Equation
• Quarter Width = (Circumference + Ease) ÷ 4
• Crotch Hook / Arc Curve = Hip ÷ 16 (Front) and Hip ÷ 8 (Back)
