Pattern Drafting Architecture
  • Quarter Front Block: Cut on the center-front fold. Includes a 1/2" larger chest arc to naturally account for bust protrusion without stretching.
  • Quarter Back Block: Cut as two panels to allow for a zipper, button placket, or contoured center-back shaping seam.
  • Waist Dart Apex: The front waist dart stops 1" (2.5 cm) short of the true bust apex to prevent sharp conical pointing.
Drafting Formulas
• Front Bust Arc = (Bust ÷ 4) + 0.5" ease
• Back Bust Arc = (Bust ÷ 4) - 0.5"
• Armhole Depth = (Bust ÷ 6) + 2" (or 5 cm)
